Its Summer in Arizona!

Its summer in Arizona. How do I know? well..
  • The birds are using potholders to pull worms from the ground
  • The trees are whistling for the dogs
  • The best parking place is determined by the amount of shade rather than the distance
  • Hot water now comes out of both taps
  • You can make 'instant' sun tea
  • You learn that a seat belt makes an excellent branding iron
  • The temperature drops below 95F (30C) and you feel a little 'chilly'
  • You discover that, in July, it really does only take two fingers to steer your car!
  • You burn yourself whist trying to open the car door
  • You break into a sweat when you walk outside at 6:30am
  • You realize that asphalt has a liquid state
  • The potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one up and add butter and salt.
  • Farmers feed the chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
  • The cows give evaporated milk!

But we still love our Arizona and wouldn't leave it for the world!

That is the funniest thing.

The birds with potholders is the funniest.

Did you make all of this up?

This sounds like Middle Georgia!! We here in the deep South have had a very hot June...so take all of above and add humidity!! We are the land of frizzy hair and running makeup! :)

That's too funny, Val! It's great to see you're keeping your good sense of humor throughout all fo this. I for one am unable to laugh now because I'm turning into a hermit. Here in the deep South of Southern Georgia, the heat and humidity are chocking the life right out of me, but I'm hanging on and clinging to thoughts of winter...even the dog's getting depressed and can't quit chewing on himself.

Thanks for the laugh. I needed it!

Now I don't feel so bad living in Tokyo! I thought it was hot here but it's nothing compared to what you're experiencing.
Mind you, the pond in the garden does smell a bit like fish soup LOL:)

I lived in Arizona for a year when I was in high school. I remember what we called "electric Bugs" that would hummmmm quite loudly in the heat of the summer evenings. Loved Arizona.

Love this! I live in Tucson and boy can I relate. It's sad because while humorous, it's true! I know a little too well about being burned opening your car door or putting on the seatbelt, the shady parking spots, driving with two fingers because your steering wheel is so frickin hot! Very nice!

I'm with Aprons and More: sounds like Georgia! I'm back here in GA visiting my family. Moved to Seattle last year. I don't miss this weather one bit! So true about the steering wheel, hehe!
